Comcast announced Ron Orlando as the new vice president of external affairs in the Mountain West Region. In this role, Orlando leads government affairs, public-private partnerships, communication strategies, community impact and investment initiatives.

Previously, Orlando served as the vice president, external affairs, for Comcast’s Midwest Region. He first joined Comcast in 2005 as Director of State Government Affairs in Michigan and has been with the company for more than 19 years.
“Ron brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to our team. He is a principled, people-focused, and customer-driven leader,” said J.D. Keller, senior vice president of Comcast’s Mountain West Region. “His inclusive leadership style will be instrumental in our goal of connecting people to what matters most to them.”

Q: What are you most looking forward to about living and working in the Mountain West Region?
I love the outdoors and I’m looking forward to exploring the mountains. I enjoyed skiing during my teens and twenties and really want to get back into it.
Q: What’s your favorite part about working at Comcast?
After 19 years with the company, the people and culture are amazing. We often take for granted all that we have in life. The Comcast Family is truly magical.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
While I worked on Capitol Hill, I had the privilege to work with the civil rights champion and late Congressman John Lewis. His advice to me was, “you show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.“

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
I love helping people. I’m always looking to work with local nonprofit partners to volunteer my time and experiences to pay it forward to others.
