Comcast Shows Support For Local Military Members

According to the National Center for Veterans Analysis and Statistics, the state of Colorado is home to a more than 400,000 veterans.  Our veterans and their families are important to the economic growth and vitality of our state and local communities, and supporting them through employment opportunities and employee resources is a critical responsibility for our business and community leaders.

Comcast NBCUniversal is committed to supporting and hiring the military community – whether you’re a member of the military community beginning your civilian career, or a veteran entrepreneur accelerating your business we want to support those who dedicated their lives to service.

We support these communities in a variety of ways, such as through a resource portal, which helps with the transition to civilian life, and we released an e-book and guide titled Heroes Get Hired: How to Use Your Military Experience to Master the Interview.

“Helping our veterans transform military service into civilian success is good for our nation and good for our business,” says Comcast VP of Veterans and Military Affairs, General Carol Eggert.

Honoring our heroes and raising awareness within our communities about the exceptional strength, integrity and sacrifice they made for our country is one of the ways we ensure their legacy continues.

In Colorado Springs, Comcast supported the naming of the new “Donald G. Stratton Bridge” and contributed to the production and installation of the public signs marking the bridge.

Don Stratton, is one of the only five remaining survivors from the 1941 attack on the battleship USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor. The State of Colorado designated the Interstate-25/Fillmore Bridge in Colorado Spring, CO as a memorial to Stratton in a public ceremony at the Holiday Village community in June to recognize Stratton’s heroism. We’re committed to supporting those who are serve our great nation and their families. We continue to embrace the military community – because it is the right thing to do for our business and for those who give back to our Country.
