NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and Comcast announced today the donation of 2,000 laptops and one free month of internet service as part of their multi-year partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. Through Telemundo’s El Poder en Ti, Comcast’s Project UP and Xfinity’s Internet Essentials, this joint initiative is designed to help close the digital divide for the next generation of Latinos in the U.S. The free services and laptops will be distributed in Albuquerque, the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Fresno, Houston, Miami, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, Salt Lake City and Washington D.C.

In total, more than 12,000 Latino families from underserved communities have been reached through this annual “Season of Giving” initiative. This new milestone underscores the commitment to increasing digital skills and connectivity, enabling even more students to fully participate in their education.

“Reaching this incredible milestone of 12,000 donated laptops to support the U.S. Latino community reflects our unwavering commitment to bridging the digital divide,” said Christina Kolbjornsen, Senior Vice President of Corporate and External Affairs at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “Through our ongoing partnership with Comcast, we are empowering families in need with tools for education, opportunity and success. By fostering digital equity and economic mobility, we aim to inspire the next generation of Latino storytellers, innovators and entrepreneurs who will shape the future of our society.”

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, Comcast, and Xfinity recognize the urgent need for digital inclusion, especially for Latino communities—one of the fastest-growing demographics in the U.S.—as an essential part of education, staying connected with loved ones, and overall access to information and development.

“Technology is a catalyst for personal transformation and a means to build a future of unlimited possibilities. This effort is more than giving away laptops; it is about empowering students and families and unlocking the doors of opportunity for the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers, and creators,” said Broderick Johnson, Executive Vice President, Public Policy and Executive Vice President, Digital Equity, Comcast Corporation.

“Combining free laptops with Xfinity’s Internet Essentials service ensures all students have the tools and resources they need to access the full potential of the Internet,” said Marge Jackson, Senior Vice President, Sales, Comcast Cable.

Project UP, which includes programs and community partnerships across Comcast, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, and Sky, has continued to educate the next generation of internet users to prevent them from falling behind. As the program continues to make strides in the new year, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, Comcast, and Xfinity remain focused on connecting people to the internet, ensuring that everyone has the chance to thrive in our digital world.

Internet Essentials, from Comcast, is the nation’s largest and most successful private-sector broadband adoption program. It offers low-cost internet service at $14.95/month (plus tax), the option to purchase a heavily subsidized computer for $149.95 (plus tax), and access to free digital skills educational content either online or through our national network of thousands of local nonprofit partners.
