We are pleased to share the 2022 Comcast NBCUniversal Impact Report, which provides an overview of the partners and programs that shape our commitment to building a more just, equitable, and connected world.
In 2021, we launched Project UP, our $1 billion commitment to advance digital equity and help build a future of unlimited possibilities. From connecting people to the Internet; to opening doors for the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and storytellers; to creating new career pathways in media and technology, we can deepen our impact, harness new opportunities, and help create a future that benefits generations to come. Through Project UP, we are supporting the work of our incredible, high-impact nonprofit partners advancing digital equity and opportunity – you can read about some of these organizations in the report.
As part of this commitment, locally in Colorado, Comcast has:
- Invested $42.6 million in cash and in-kind services to support nearly 270 nonprofit organizations like Girls Inc., Boys & Girls Clubs, and Mt. Carmel Veterans’ Service Center over the last three years.
- Connected nearly 600,000 Coloradans with low cost in-home Internet through our Internet Essentials Program.
- Worked with local non-profit community organizations to enable thousands of Coloradans to connect to free Wi-Fi in over 90 Comcast Lift Zone centers.
We continue to invest in hiring, development, and advancement strategies to build a workforce culture that reflects the communities we proudly serve. We are especially proud that our company reached the most inclusive employee representation since we began tracking diversity data ten years ago. Our overall workforce is 36% women and 45% people of color. In addition, 47% of our new hires last year were women and 57% were people of color.
We know addressing systemic issues requires sustained effort, and we are deeply grateful for our partners and their shared commitment to making an impact.
