Comcast names Gary Amella Director of Government Affairs for Southern Colorado

As a native of Pueblo, Colorado, Gary Amella has always been passionate about Southern Colorado, especially its strong sense of community and economic growth . Now, he’s looking forward to serving the region in his new role as Comcast’s director of local government affairs for Southern Colorado.

It’s exciting to be out in the community,” said Amella, who has been with Comcast for 17 years. “I’m thrilled to get to work in the area I grew up in.”

In this role, Amella is leading Comcast’s government affairs strategy. He’ll work closely with elected officials and local community and business leaders to help support Comcast’s regulatory affairs, community outreach, growth and expansion in the region.

“What I’m really looking forward to is being an ambassador of Comcast,” Amella said. “Especially when it comes to our digital equity programs.”

Amella joined Comcast in 2005. Most recently, he served as a business development manager, leading network expansion efforts in projects throughout Colorado. Previously, he was a Comcast Business sales leader and an Xfinity sales leader. Before joining Comcast, Gary worked as a land surveyor for Amella Surveying.

Amella said he’s committed to supporting Southern Colorado and ensuring more people are able to connect to what matters most to them.

Comcast cares about its employees and its communities,” Amella said. “I’m so proud to be part of this company.”
