A Strong Commitment to Diversity in the Workplace: How Comcast’s New Area Vice President “Defied the Odds”

I defied the odds. A black woman in technology who didn’t check all the boxes. I still applied because I knew that I could add value to the role despite not growing up in the Tech Ops field.”

Stephanie Rideau knew she had the skills and determination to help connect more people to what matters most, so she bet on herself and started making a difference right away.

At Comcast, our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is part of our DNA. We are committed to achieving a workplace that reflects the world around us, and we strive to foster a workplace that reflects and supports our greatest strength – our diverse and talented workforce.

Stephanie embodies this mission through her leadership and recent promotion as Comcast’s new Area Vice President of Technical Operations for Colorado.

I knew my diverse experience in leadership, sales, marketing, operations, and business development would bring a new perspective,” Rideau said. “I knew my passion for leadership development and commitment to creating an exceptional customer experience would resonate.”

We believe a deep focus on diversity, equity and inclusion is crucial to reach our greatest potential as a company, and that includes promoting a diverse group of leaders, like Stephanie.

Stephanie has already made great strides in the Mountain West Region, and I’m confident her strategic, operational and relationship-building skills will continue to make her successful in the new role,” said Chris Weeks, Vice President of Field Operations for Comcast’s Mountain West Region.

If you’re looking to take the next step in your career, Stephanie has some great advice.

Apply for the job. Believe in yourself. Get out of your head. Go hard and confidently prepare,” she said.
