Over 80 Comcast Colorado Lift Zones Provide Free WiFi Access to our Communities

There’s a huge need for art and internet accessibility and inclusivity in our community. And our Lift Zone is helping us bridge that gap. It has allowed several of our young artists to participate in online schooling and is a key function of our digital art lab. It’s allowing us to provide Colorado with access to the tools needed, for everyone to connect, including those with disabilities.” Damon McLeese, Executive Director, Access Gallery

As part of Comcast’s ongoing commitment to help connect more Coloradans to the internet, we recently announced more than 80 Lift Zone locations across Colorado are now available to students and adults needing to access critical resources through the internet. This initiative provides free high-speed WiFi connectivity and access to hundreds of hours of educational and digital skills content to help Coloradans and site coordinators navigate online learning. Additionally, through Comcast funding, many Lift Zones receive laptops and other smart devices to help better serve the community.

Our goal was to work closely with community organizations to launch Lift Zones in convenient areas, so folks can easily get to access WiFi and receive digital equity wrap-around services – and we did just that!

Lift Zones provide Coloradans with a space to participate in distance learning and an avenue to complete homework. Adults are also going to these locations to work remotely, look for or apply for a job and learn digital skills.
