We’re also bringing the experience even closer to home in Colorado Springs this year during the Downtown Celebration – Tokyo on July 31.
The Downtown Celebration – Tokyo is a continuation of a biennial celebration organized by the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation that began in 2012 with the Olympic Games London 2012. This public event celebrates the community’s support of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, headquartered in Colorado Springs – “Olympic City USA”, Team USA, and the Olympic ideals of peace, respect, and unity.
Comcast is a proud sponsor of the celebration, and excited to host meet and greet opportunities with U.S. Olympians and Paralympians, offer fun family photo opportunities with Team USA standees, and provide access to free, public Xfinity WiFi in the Tokyo Games Fan Zone – located in the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum plaza.
Swing by our Xfinity tent located at W. Vermijo Ave directly east of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum from 12:00PM – 8:00PM to meet an athlete in-person and learn more about how you, your family, and friends can experience the Olympic Games as an Xfinity customer through X1, Flex, and the Xfinity Stream app.
Timeline of Events at the Xfinity Tent:
- 1:30PM – 2:30PM – Meet & Greet with Bonnie Blair, five-time U.S. Olympic Medalist
- 2:00PM – 3:00PM – Meet & Greet with McKenna Geer, 2016 Paralympic Bronze Medalist
- 2:45PM – 3:45PM – Meet & Greet with Jackie Joyner-Kersee, six-time U.S. Olympic Medalist
- 4:00PM – 4:45PM – Olympic & Paralympic athlete panel discussion featuring Jackie Joyner Kersee, Bonnie Blair, and McKenna Geer
- Note: This will take place on the stage in the Tokyo Games Fan Zone
The Xfinity tent will be open from 12:00PM – 8:00PM showcasing how to watch the Games at home via Xfinity X1 and will feature a Team USA interactive wall and photo opportunities with athlete standees. We hope to see you at the Downtown Celebration – Tokyo!
