Many of our local partners continue to support distance learning, providing students with a safe space to virtually connect to the classroom. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver is one of our local partners supporting groups of students at their club locations across the Denver Metro Area. In 2020, we worked with the organization to equip seven of their clubs as “Lift Zone” locations. These clubs were installed with free, robust WiFi to help their members reliably connect to classes and complete schoolwork during the day or after school.
Now, we’ve teamed up with Telemundo Denver to provide additional support for the families they serve. We partnered to provide 100 laptops and 350 goodie bags of school supplies to the seven clubs activated as Lift Zone locations. The technology and supplies will be evenly divided across the seven clubs for their members who are participating in distance learning. The laptops will be available for the club members to use while at the clubs or to rent and finish their homework from home. The school supplies will be held at the clubs for each of the distance learners to have their own set of supplies. This allows for a safe learning environment for their members during this time.
