Cooling Down to Connect With Our Communities Over the Fourth

While many of the Fourth of July celebrations looked different this year, we helped to keep people in the Colorado Springs area connected to their community through support of the Symphony in The Park On Your Porch celebrations.

The planned activities were adjusted as folks were encouraged to stay at home, stay healthy and continue to enjoy the festivities from their front porches, while music was broadcast from local radio stations and fireworks displays were broadcast on live TV.

Prior to the night sky lighting up with fireworks, we partnered with a local ice cream truck company, Frosty Freeze, to provide 2,500 patriotic ice cream treats to kids and families in five surprise neighborhoods across the community. Residents across Colorado Springs enjoyed the free tasty treats on their porches while watching one of the ten fireworks displays around Pikes Peak Region.

Connecting our communities to what matters is at the heart of what we do and while COVID-19 has had a tremendous impact on nearly every aspect of our daily lives, we’re working to ensure people continue to stay connected this summer.
