Comcast Business Expands High-Performance Ethernet Network to Underserved I-70 and Havana Street Area in Denver

Comcast Business announced a more than $3.5 million fiber optic network expansion across Denver’s I-70 and Havana Street area. Capable of delivering up to 10 Gigabits-per-second (Gbps) of network capacity, Comcast’s high-performance Ethernet network will support advanced services and give the company the ability to bring new customers, ranging from small and medium-sized organizations to large enterprises, online more quickly. Specifically, the network expansion will enable more than 750 businesses across 363 buildings to benefit from superior speeds as well as scalable, secure and reliable network performance.
A large industrial area, the I-70 and Havana corridor is home to hundreds of manufacturing plants, warehouses and other businesses. Comcast is now delivering high-performance Ethernet, internet, Wi-Fi, TV and voice solutions to this underserved area, empowering enterprises and small businesses with the technology resources they need to remain competitive and easily scale as business requirements change.
“Network connectivity is vital for businesses in any vertical, and in the manufacturing industry, it’s a central requirement to ensure facilities can maintain daily production workflows,” said Shawn Adamson, vice president, Mountain West Region, Comcast Business. “Companies along the I-70 and Havana corridor can now take advantage of our reliable, high-performance Ethernet services to remain connected to multiple plants, enhance performance for specialized machinery, better manage their supply chain and so much more.”
“Everything we do is dependent on our servers – from our 3D modeling software, to the programs we use daily, to the files we access,” said Robert Kopp, project manager at Midlands Mechanical, Inc., a local area business. “Comcast Business’ reliable, secure and high-speed network keeps our servers up and running, providing peace of mind to IT and enabling employees to work more efficiently and better service customers.”
This Ethernet expansion will provide businesses with access to a comprehensive portfolio of multi-Gigabit Ethernet options that will help meet the day-to-day demands of organizations requiring large amounts of bandwidth, looking to link multiple sites or branch locations, or planning to connect their offices to a third-party data center. Services offered include:
  • Ethernet Private Line: Point-to-point connectivity between two customer sites for bandwidth-intensive applications.
  • Ethernet Virtual Private Line: Point-to-multipoint connectivity to enable customers to tailor bandwidth, performance characteristics and cost.
  • Ethernet Network Service: Multipoint-to-multipoint connectivity to connect organizations with high-bandwidth requirements and multiple locations across Comcast’s network.
  • Ethernet Dedicated Internet: Continuous, high-bandwidth connectivity between customers’ LANs and the public internet.
